We have 9 or 10 guys that want to have a texas hold 'em tournament on Saturday. I would appreciate anyone's help on how to run it. I assume we should all be at one table. Let me know. Also, we have 1000 chips(250 of 4 colors) how would you divide them up, how many chips to each guy and in what should be the denominations. Also want to know what blinds to start with and how quickly and to what to raise them to. We are throwing in $50 a man per tournament and hope to be done in and hour or an hour and a half. We are trying to get 2 in before the games start. Also how should we pay out to be fair. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Google "home poker tournaments."

Read everything on the first site listed.

10 guys and you want it to be over in an hour. That's insane impossible and improbable. I have found in the past to make a tourney go faster having an ante works rather well.

OMG are you serious about the chips just use casino ships $5 $25 $100 $500 value. give everybody a $1000 worth of chips. Wow sounds like you never even played before may want to start with a smaller buy-in. What a table to be at 10 clueless people. If I was there it might be over in a hour.:money8:

Thanks for the help guys. We play tons of poker, but have never played a hold 'em tournament. Hey, you have to start somewhere. Just looking for some help to make it fair and fun for everyone. Again I don't know how fast they go since I've never played in one.
